What questions/suggestions do you have about returning to competitions?
What we have all gone through in the last year has not been easy and we expect many people to be on the fence about attending competitions again. If you have any questions whatsoever regarding returning to competitions, feel free to let us know in the survey below. Along with questions we are also inviting anyone to make suggestions of things we could do to make our cubers and their friends/family more comfortable with the return to competitions. Feel free to submit questions/suggestions anonymously (email optional) below. All questions and answers will be posted below (and emailed directly to you if you provide your email).
Q: Will competitions require competitors or spectators to be vaccinated? A: At the moment, requiring vaccinations are not allowed.
Q: Will competitions require competitors or spectators to wear face masks? A: While not required at all competitions, according to the Temporary Regulation Y3, the delegate(s) may require attendees to wear a face mask while inside the competition venue. This should be announced clearly before the competition. On top of this, please keep in mind that wearing masks may be a rule of the actual venue. Whether the delegates put the rule in place or the venue, it should be announced clearly before the competition.
Q: When will competitions start up again? A: I (Matthew) cannot say for certain when competitions will start again, but I wouldn't to be surprised if competitions slowly rolled out by the Fall/Winter. This is, of course, as long as things continue to get better regarding Covid-19. Competitions will only happen when it is deemed safe to hold them, so if cases get worse, it may extend the time until we return. I think it is safe to say that the first few competitions back will be smaller than the usual 100 person competitions you might see in some areas.
